Quality Guide
What Swift-Slide does well,
and where it struggles.
Swift-Slide isn't a tool for making an exact copy of your original slides. It's a tool where AI peels off the text and restores the background so that you can edit and finish the result yourself. By its nature, the outcome varies from slide to slide. So that you get the most out of it, we want to be upfront about what it's good at, what it struggles with, and how to handle each case.
Strengths
Slides we handle well
Text-centered slides
Layouts with text over a solid or gradient background. This is the pattern where text removal and background restoration are most reliable.
AI-generated slides like NotebookLM (now Gemini Notebook)
A great fit for the flat designs common in AI-generated slides — the main use case this service is built around.
Infographics
Layouts built from bullet points and shapes plus text. Shapes and icons are kept as images, while only the text becomes editable.

Limitations
Limitations — an honest heads-up
With slides like the following, erase marks may remain or the text may not become editable.
- Text over photos
- Because photos carry a lot of detail, the restored areas tend to show erase marks such as blur or uneven color.
- Extremely small text or low resolution
- Character outlines break down and can't be read, which makes missed detection and misrecognition more likely.
- Handwriting
- Letterforms are irregular, so recognition accuracy is unstable.
- Vertical text
- The system is designed for horizontal text, so vertical or heavily rotated characters don't become editable and stay as part of the image.
- Complex textured backgrounds
- With fine patterns like wood grain or fabric, the restored area may not line up seamlessly with the surrounding pattern.
The Editor
After converting, finish in the dedicated editor
Before you download the PPTX, you can adjust the result in the browser-based editor. Beyond rewriting, moving, and recoloring text, the "eraser (background repair)" and "insert from original" tools described below are all used from this screen.

Swift-Slide treats text overlapping logos, icons, and illustrations as "part of the design" and deliberately leaves it in place so as not to break the artwork. Because of this, both "text you wanted gone remains" and "a figure you wanted to keep disappears" can happen. For finishing, we provide two tools with opposite roles.
Eraser (background repair) = remove what's left
- Smooth out the marks left by removing text (blur, uneven color)
- Erase leftover text — such as text on top of a logo or illustration — along with its background
Insert from original = bring back what disappeared
- Restore a logo, figure, or illustration that disappeared after being mistaken for text
- Paste the original design back as an image, including any text on a logo or illustration
Touch-up
Finish erase marks and leftover text with the eraser
Whether it's the marks left by removing text (blur or uneven color) or text deliberately kept on top of a logo or illustration, just brush over the spot with the editor's "eraser (background repair)." The AI repairs only that area, background and all.

Show only the background
When you open "Touch-up" in the editor, only the background — without the text — is shown.
Brush over the spots you care about
Brush over and select the areas with noticeable erase marks or any leftover text.
Re-repair just that area
The AI repairs only the selected area again. It doesn't use any of your page allowance.
Uses per page
Touch-up doesn't use any of your page allowance. Each plan has a per-page limit on the number of uses, and this count is shared with "Separate objects" (either one counts as one use).

Insert from original
Bring back lost figures and logos from the original
Text on logos, icons, and illustrations is kept as part of the design by default, but it can sometimes be mistaken for standalone text, taking the figure or logo with it. When that happens, use "Insert from original" — crop the part you need from the pre-conversion image and paste it right back.

Open "Insert from original"
Choose "Insert from original" from the editor toolbar, and the original pre-conversion slide image appears as-is.
Drag to select the area to restore
Just draw a box around the part you want back — a lost figure, logo, illustration, and so on. Turn on "Remove background" for a cutout with a transparent background (this option appears only in WebGPU-capable browsers such as recent Chrome / Edge).
Insert and place as an image
The selected area is inserted onto the slide as an image. Drag to move it, grab a corner to resize, and it's exported straight into the PPTX. It doesn't use any of your page allowance.
Object Separation
Separate figures and illustrations into movable objects
Want to rearrange figures and icons on the converted slide? Use "Object Separation" — AI detects illustrations and icons on the page and separates them from the background into individually movable image objects (available on all plans, including Free).

AI detects objects
Open "Separate objects" in the editor and press "Start" — AI detects illustration and icon candidates on the page and outlines them.
Pick targets and cut out
Tap the boxes of objects you want to move. Boxes can be dragged, resized from the corners, or added manually by dragging on empty space. Press "Cut out" to preview the results.
Review and apply
For each object choose "Use cutout" (background removed cleanly), "Keep background" (for complex figures that resist cutting), or "Exclude", then apply. Objects are removed from the background and become freely movable images.
Fonts & Colors
About reproducing fonts and colors
Rather than an exact match with the original slide, we prioritize handing it over in a state you can freely edit in PPTX.
Fonts
We estimate roles like heading and body, along with text size, from the original image and reproduce them. Text is converted in Meiryo; we don't identify or embed the original font. In the editor's Font menu you can switch to any of six fonts built into PowerPoint (Meiryo, Yu Gothic, BIZ UDPGothic, Arial, Calibri, Times New Roman).
Text color
Text color is estimated from the original image and reproduced. Logos and decorative lettering with 3D or gradient effects may be kept as images to preserve the design.
Fonts, sizes, and colors can all be freely changed in the editor and in PowerPoint after converting.
Formats & Usage
Supported files and how usage is counted
- PDF (up to 50MB)
- PNG
- JPEG
- WebP
Converting 1 page uses 1 page of your allowance. Pages are only deducted when they convert successfully — failed pages are not charged.
Which files convert, and into what
Regular PDFs with selectable text, image-only PDFs, and PDFs that mix both all work. Only the text becomes editable; figures and photos stay as they are.
| Input | Support | After conversion |
|---|---|---|
| Regular text PDFs (selectable text) | Supported | Text from the PDF's text layer becomes editable text as-is; figures and photos are kept |
| Scanned and image-based PDFs | Supported | OCR detects text inside the image, AI restores the background, and the text is placed back as editable text |
| PDFs containing both selectable text and text embedded in images | Supported | Both the existing text layer and the in-image text become editable together |
| NotebookLM (now Gemini Notebook) slides | Supported | Editable PPTX with the original design intact; the watermark can be removed |
| Infographics | Supported | Text becomes editable and the background behind removed text is restored by AI |
| PNG, JPEG and WebP images | Supported | Text inside the image becomes editable text in a PPTX |
| A4, portrait, landscape and square pages | Supported | Slide dimensions follow the original page's aspect ratio |
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
From conversion quality to how your data is handled and how page allowances work — if you're unsure, start here.
Conversion & quality
- Can I convert a regular text PDF (with selectable text) to PowerPoint?
- Yes. When the PDF has a text layer, that text becomes editable text as-is, and figures and photos are kept. The background is rendered without drawing the text, so there are no erase marks.
- Can I edit the text in scanned PDFs and image-based PDFs?
- Yes. OCR (Azure Document Intelligence) reads the text inside the image, AI removes it and restores the background, and the text is placed back as editable text. Handwriting and very small text may be hard to read.
- What happens with a PDF that mixes selectable text and text inside images?
- Both are handled. Text from the text layer becomes editable text directly, text embedded in images is read by OCR with the background restored, and everything lands in one PPTX.
- Does it work with A4 portrait, square, or other non-16:9 documents?
- Yes. Slide dimensions follow the original page's aspect ratio, so A4 portrait, landscape and square pages all come out at their original proportions.
- What can I edit in PowerPoint after conversion?
- The text (text boxes). Position, size, color and bold are estimated during conversion; the font is Meiryo at conversion time and you can choose from six fonts in the editor. The background (the image with text removed and restored) is placed as the slide background.
- Do figures, logos and icons become PowerPoint shapes?
- No. Figures, photos and logos stay as part of the background image. The editor's object separation can cut figures and icons out as separate images, but nothing is converted into PowerPoint shapes or SmartArt.
- How long does conversion take?
- In measured examples as of July 2026, a single page finishes in about 30 seconds, 15 pages in about 1 minute, and even a large 111-page deck in about 4 minutes. Multiple pages are processed in parallel, so the time doesn't scale linearly with page count. Everything runs on the server, so conversion continues even if you close the screen, and you can check the status anytime from the dashboard (times vary with load and source material and are not guaranteed).
- How many pages can I convert?
- The limit is 1,000 pages per upload and 50MB per PDF. For slides made of images (such as exports from NotebookLM), if the pages rendered in your browser exceed 50MB in total, processing automatically switches to our servers, where the limit is 400 pages (as of September 2026). Please split image-based slide decks larger than 400 pages (the screen will tell you when this applies). You can convert as many pages as your remaining page allowance allows (converting 1 page uses 1 page); if your remaining pages are short, you can also choose a partial conversion that processes only as many pages from the start as your allowance covers.
- Can I upload a PowerPoint (.pptx) file directly?
- Supported formats are PDF and images (PNG, JPEG, WebP). PowerPoint and Word can't be uploaded directly. Export a PDF from PowerPoint ("Export" / "Save as PDF") and upload that PDF instead (up to 50MB for PDF, 10MB for images).
- I heard NotebookLM was renamed to Gemini Notebook. Can I convert Gemini Notebook slides?
- Yes. Gemini Notebook is the new name for NotebookLM (renamed in July 2026) — it's the same product. Slides and infographics generated with Gemini Notebook convert exactly as before.
- Does it work with PDFs and images from tools other than NotebookLM?
- Yes. Beyond NotebookLM (now Gemini Notebook), it converts slides and infographics made with Canva, Gamma, and other AI tools, as well as scanned images — any material that ends up as a PDF or PNG/JPG. See the sections above for what converts best.
- Can I use the converted files commercially?
- Yes. You retain the rights to the materials you upload (Terms of Service, Article 5), and the converted PPTX is yours to use — there are no restrictions from us on business or commercial use.
- Can I convert slides in languages other than Japanese (e.g. English)?
- Yes. Text recognition supports multiple languages, so slides in English and other languages can be made editable. Text is converted in Meiryo, so Latin text may look somewhat different from the original; switch it to Arial, Calibri, or Times New Roman from the Font menu in the editor.
- Are diagonal or vertical texts reproduced?
- Vertical (tategaki) text is detected automatically and reproduced as native vertical text, including in PowerPoint. Very short vertical labels (2-3 characters) are excluded from auto-detection to avoid false positives and may come out horizontal — select the text and use the vertical text button in the properties panel to switch it. Slanted text is reproduced with its detected angle, but text along a curve or heavily stylized diagonal headings may be placed horizontally; adjust those with the rotation handle in the editor.
- Will it look exactly like my original slide?
- Not an exact match. Swift-Slide prioritizes handing you an editable result over reproducing the exact look. Text size and placement are estimated from the original image and reproduced, but text is converted in Meiryo (switchable to any of six PowerPoint fonts in the editor) and colors may differ slightly. You can fine-tune the finish in the editor or in PowerPoint.
- What if some text was recognized incorrectly?
- Double-click the text in the editor to rewrite it on the spot. Drag to move it, and use the left/right handles to adjust the width (wrapping). Text size is changed from the number in the properties panel (dragging the frame doesn't change it).
- Where do I edit the other pages of a multi-page document?
- Switch pages with the "Page 1", "Page 2"… tabs at the top of the editor. Edits are saved automatically per page. Pages that failed to convert appear as red tabs, and you can re-run them from there. If a page finished without AI graphics protection temporarily applied, the editor shows a warning with a "Reprocess" button when you open it, and you can re-run just that page at no extra cost to your page allowance.
- What happens to tables, charts, and photos?
- Figures, charts, and photos are kept as images (as "part of the artwork"), and readable text on top of them is made editable. A table's cell structure itself does not become an editable table — it stays as an image (to preserve the layout, the whole figure is treated as a single image).
- Text on top of a logo or illustration didn't get removed
- That's by design. Text overlapping logos, icons, and illustrations is treated as "part of the design," and we deliberately don't remove it or turn it into text so as not to break the artwork. If you do want to remove that text, brush over the spot with the editor's "eraser (background repair)" and the AI will cleanly repair it along with the background (this uses none of your page allowance).
- A figure, logo, or illustration disappeared
- Conversely, a figure or logo can be mistaken for standalone text and get removed. Use the editor's "insert from original" to crop the part from the pre-conversion image and restore it as-is (this uses none of your page allowance). See the "Insert from original" section on this page for details.
- Decorative text (comic sound effects, 3D styling) turned into plain text
- Flashy decorative text — burst/comic sound effects, onomatopoeia, 3D or multi-outline styling — can't be reproduced by PowerPoint's standard features, so we try to keep it as an image. Depending on the slide, though, it may get converted into plain editable text. To keep the original design, use the editor's "insert from original" to crop that part and paste it back as an image (this uses none of your page allowance).
- Which software can open the exported PPTX?
- It's exported in the standard PowerPoint format (.pptx), so besides Microsoft PowerPoint (Windows / Mac / web), you can also import and edit it in Google Slides or Keynote.
- Can it export as PDF?
- Export is PPTX only. If you need a PDF, open the exported PPTX in PowerPoint or Google Slides and use "Export as PDF" there.
- Why are the slide size and font size numbers in the exported PPTX larger than the original?
- This is by design. To reproduce even small text without breaking the layout, we export the slide dimensions and the font sizes at the same magnification (2x). Because everything is scaled by the same factor, the visual balance stays identical to the original, and slideshows, printing, and PDF export all display normally, fitted to the screen or page. Font sizes simply read as roughly twice the number; the size you actually see matches the original document. If you copy an entire slide into another presentation, PowerPoint automatically fits it to the destination size, so it can usually be used as is. If you copy individual elements such as text boxes or shapes into a standard-size presentation, they paste at roughly twice the size — just scale them down in the destination. To return the slide itself to a standard size, open PowerPoint's Design → Slide Size → Custom Slide Size, halve the width and height, and choose "Ensure Fit" so the content shrinks along with it.
- What happens to a PDF that mixes portrait and landscape pages?
- PowerPoint allows only one slide size per PPTX file. The slide size is therefore based on the orientation used by the majority of pages (landscape if tied), and pages with the other orientation are scaled down — keeping their aspect ratio — and centered on the slide with margins on the sides. Nothing gets cropped or distorted. If you would rather keep every page at its original size, choose "Split by page size and download as a ZIP" in the export dialog: you get one PPTX per page size, bundled into a single ZIP.
- Some text that is not on top of a figure or illustration was left behind
- Text recognition has its limits: where glyphs are distorted, contrast against the background is low, or characters are small, the text may not be recognized and therefore not removed. Such text does not become editable either. Trace over the spot with the eraser (background repair) in the editor and the background is repaired along with it (none of your page allowance is used). Note that recognition results vary slightly each time the same file is converted, so re-converting may resolve it, but that is not guaranteed and it does use pages from your allowance. Please try the eraser first.
Data safety
- What happens to the PDF I upload?
- The original file you upload is automatically deleted once the conversion finishes. The editor images and edit data are kept only for your plan's retention period (Free & Light: up to 7 days / Standard & Team: up to 30 days), and are permanently deleted once that period passes.
- Could my slide content be used to train AI?
- No. Each AI service we use for text recognition and image repair is contracted and configured not to use input data for training (via zero data retention and similar). See the list of subprocessors in our Privacy Policy for details.
- Is it safe to upload confidential materials?
- All communication is encrypted, stored data is kept in private storage, and the original file is deleted right after processing. If you want to be extra careful, you can shorten the retention period to as little as 1 day on the settings page, or manually delete the project after converting.
- Where (which countries) is my data stored and processed?
- Your data is stored and processed on the cloud services we use. The main locations are Japan and the United States (the application platform runs on Google Cloud's Tokyo region; background restoration and text recognition use data centers in Japan or the US; authentication, database, and storage are mainly in the US). The location of each subprocessor and how cross-border transfers are handled are described in the "External services (subprocessors)" and "Cross-border transfer" sections of our Privacy Policy. Uploaded original files are deleted right after processing, and edit data is permanently deleted after the retention period.
- Can I get a copy of the personal data you hold about me?
- Yes — you can download it yourself as a JSON file from "Download your retained personal data" on the settings page. Request a confirmation code, enter the 6-digit code sent to your registered email address, and the download starts. It includes your account information, conversion history, page-allowance records, support history, and payment records (date, amount, plan name, status, and receipt). It does not include the uploaded documents themselves, data whose retention period has passed and which we no longer hold, or our own accounting details such as processing fees. If you have a large number of entries, some sections are capped and both the screen and the file say so — request the complete set from our inquiry desk. Correction and suspension-of-use requests are handled at the same desk.
- Does an AI read my support inquiries?
- Yes. To reply faster, we send the content of your inquiry to Google's AI service (Vertex AI / Gemini) to generate a reply automatically. We use it configured so that your input is not used to train the AI model. Anything the AI cannot answer reliably is handled by a member of our staff. Statutory requests — such as disclosure, correction, or suspension of use of your personal data — and anything involving legal matters are never answered automatically by the AI; a member of our staff always handles them. Individual inquiries cannot be excluded from this AI processing, so please keep that in mind if your inquiry needs to include confidential details.
- How do I delete my account and data?
- You can delete your account from the settings page. All projects, edit data, and account information are erased and can't be recovered. On a paid (individual) plan, the subscription is cancelled immediately when you delete (there are no prorated refunds; since deleting mid-period wastes the remaining days, we recommend deleting after your renewal date). If you are a team owner, deleting your account dissolves the team: all members return to Free and the team's contract (including additional seats) is cancelled immediately — the team does not remain even if members are still in it (to keep the team, transfer ownership before deleting). If you are a team member (not the owner), only you leave and the team and the owner's contract continue.
Using it & troubleshooting
- What happens to my page allowance if a conversion fails?
- Pages are only deducted for pages that convert successfully. If the whole thing fails, nothing is used. Please re-upload the same file from the dashboard. If it keeps failing, contact us.
- Only some pages failed to convert
- When the completion screen shows "Converted N/M pages (some failed)," the failed pages aren't included in the PPTX or the editor, and no pages were deducted for them. Failed pages are automatically retried once after about 30 minutes. If you want to fix them right away, you can re-run processing from the failed pages (red tabs) in the editor or from the processing status screen (no need to re-upload the file).
- The conversion progress isn't moving / it's taking a long time
- This is usually temporary load or the processing server warming up after a period of inactivity. Everything runs on the server, so it's fine to close the screen. As soon as the dashboard shows "Completed," you can edit and download. Pages that didn't succeed are retried automatically. If the progress (%) hasn't changed for more than 30 minutes, please contact us.
- Can I convert a password-protected (encrypted) PDF?
- No. Password-protected PDFs show an error at upload. Remove the PDF's password protection and upload it again.
- Can I use it on a smartphone?
- Yes. Uploading, converting, and downloading the PPTX all work the same on a smartphone. Editing works too, but for finer adjustments we recommend landscape orientation or a PC.
- How do I operate the editor on a smartphone?
- Use two fingers to move (pan) the slide and pinch to zoom in and out. You can select, move, and edit elements with taps and drags. Swipe left or right to switch pages (except while zoomed in or with an element selected). For finer adjustments we recommend a PC or landscape orientation.
- I want to compare before and after the conversion
- Use the "Compare" button at the top of the editor to overlay the pre-conversion original image and the converted slide (background) with a slider (your text edits aren't included in the comparison).
- Can I change the color of just part of the text, or add highlighter?
- Text color can be changed for just a selected range while editing the text. The highlighter (marker) is applied per text box (it can't be applied to only part of the text).
- Can I use the eraser (background repair) as many times as I want?
- It doesn't use your page allowance, but there's a limit on how many times it can be run per page (Free 1 / Light 2 / Standard 3 / Team 5; this count is shared with Separate objects). Each run is recorded as a version, and you can always go back to a previous state from the thumbnails at the bottom of the eraser screen (going back does not restore the used count). For pages that hit the limit, adjust in PowerPoint after exporting the PPTX, or re-convert the project.
- What happens to inserted images when I revert the eraser to a previous version?
- Inserted images (such as those pasted back with "insert from original") remain as they are. Only the background reverts, so if the content looks duplicated, select and delete the images you no longer need.
- Is it safe to edit in multiple tabs or on multiple devices at the same time?
- Simultaneous editing is not supported. If the same project is open and edited in multiple tabs or devices at once, whichever saves last overwrites the rest and earlier edits can be lost. Please edit in a single tab (device).
- Is there a list of keyboard shortcuts?
- Ctrl+Z (undo) / Ctrl+Y (redo) / Ctrl+D (duplicate) / Ctrl+A (select all text) / Ctrl+S (save now) / Delete (delete) / arrow keys (move 1px; 10px with Shift) / Escape (deselect). On Mac you can use Cmd instead of Ctrl. Shift+click for multi-select, and right-click opens a menu with duplicate, bring to front / send to back, and delete. While multiple text boxes are selected, the properties panel changes color, size, bold and more for all of them at once. On smartphones, turn on Multi-select in the toolbar to tap-select multiple boxes.
- Can I make text or images semi-transparent?
- Yes. Select the element and adjust the "Opacity" slider in the properties panel. The opacity you set is reflected in the exported PPTX as well.
- How do I remove the watermark?
- A watermark is applied only to pages converted with the Free plan's 5 monthly pages. Pages converted with the sign-up bonus (+5 pages) or with purchased packs are watermark-free even on the Free plan. While you are on a paid plan (Light or higher), exports are always watermark-free — including projects you previously converted on Free. After upgrading, simply re-download the PPTX from the same project and the watermark is gone (within the retention period, no re-conversion is needed and none of your page allowance is used).
- Can I get a receipt?
- From "Payment history" under "Plan & billing," open the "Details" for each payment to view and save the receipt (issued by Stripe). Note: on an enterprise invoice contract (bank transfer), payments do not appear in the on-screen history — we send invoices and receipts to you directly.
- How do I use it with a team?
- The Team plan includes 5 base seats, so you can invite team members and share 1,500 monthly pages across the team (additional seats are ¥1,980/seat per month with +300 monthly pages per seat, up to 30 seats in total; you can buy seats even before filling them, as a way to add pages). Projects themselves are kept separate per member and aren't visible to other members.
- I can't sign in — what should I check?
- Swift-Slide uses Google or Microsoft sign-in (there is no password). First, make sure you're signing in with the same account you used when you registered. If the problem persists, contact us via the no-sign-in contact form linked in the page footer, or by email (info@swift-slide.com).
- I signed in with a different Google/Microsoft account and my projects disappeared
- An account is created per email address, so signing in with a different account creates a new, empty account and your previous projects won't appear. Sign back in with the account (email address) you used before to see your data. Note that moving or merging data between accounts is not possible.
- If I sign in with Google or Microsoft, is it the same account?
- In principle, yes — if the email address is the same, the two sign-in methods are automatically linked to the same account, and either one gives you the same projects and page allowance. However, with some organizational Microsoft accounts the email address can't be verified; for safety the accounts are not linked in that case and the second sign-in method may fail with an error. If that happens, use the sign-in method you originally used.
- Something seems broken — where can I check service status?
- swift-slide.com/status shows the current status and the last 30 days of incident history for each feature group (conversion, editor & storage, payments). If something seems off, please check there first.
- What can I do in the demo editor on the top page?
- It's a lightweight version you can try without signing up: text editing and PPTX export. AI features such as the eraser (background repair) and insert-from-original are not available in the demo, edits are not saved, and demo PPTX exports include a watermark. To convert your own file, try the Free plan (free to sign up, no credit card required).
- I'm not receiving emails from Swift-Slide
- Check your spam folder and make sure you can receive emails from info@swift-slide.com. If you're using a company email address, the message may also be quarantined by your organization's filter. If instead you want fewer emails, you can turn off "Conversion complete", "New features and campaigns", and "Expiry reminders" individually under "Email notifications" on the settings page (the unsubscribe link in each email works too). Messages tied to your contract and transactions — payments, replies to your inquiries, team invitations, and changes to the Terms — cannot be turned off.
- Do you issue qualified invoices (Japan invoice system)?
- We are currently considering registration as a qualified invoice issuer. Invoices and receipts issued at this time do not include a registration number. Once registered, subsequent invoices will include it.
- Where can I send feedback about conversion quality?
- From the dialog shown right after downloading your PPTX. Choose "Satisfied" to optionally rate your satisfaction (1-5 stars) and pick what you liked, or "Something could be better" to select issue categories and leave a comment. Your feedback is used to improve quality.
- I agreed to have my comment published as a user testimonial, but want to withdraw it
- Contact us via "Support" in the app and we will unpublish it promptly. Only comments with explicit consent are published, each is reviewed by a person before publishing, shown anonymously (the display name you entered or your plan name), and automatically unpublished if you delete your account.
- What is "Separate objects"?
- AI detects illustrations, icons, and figures on the slide and lifts them off the background so you can move them individually (available on all plans, including Free). Open "Separate objects" at the top of the editor, tap the candidate boxes (or drag to add your own selection), review the cutouts, then apply. Applying uses one of the per-page uses shared with the eraser (background repair) — one use no matter how many objects you select, and none of your page allowance is consumed. Separated objects are also exported to the PPTX as transparent images.
- Object separation cuts out poorly / the button doesn't appear
- Complex illustrations with many overlapping elements and ring shapes like donut charts are hard to cut out. Choosing "Keep background" on the review screen inserts the object as a rectangle instead, which is usually enough for layout adjustments. To make an object transparent, run "Remove background" on its card in the review screen — it is never applied automatically; review the result and pick "Use cutout" yourself. To rotate a separated object, use the editor's rotation handle after separating. Separation itself works in all major browsers; only the optional background removal requires a WebGPU-capable browser (the latest Chrome / Edge, etc.) — on unsupported environments the removal button explains it isn't available.
- How does the selection screen work? (select all, limits, etc.)
- Tap the detected boxes to select or deselect them, or use "Select all" / "Deselect" to toggle them at once. Drag on empty space to add a manual region; a selected box can be moved, resized, or deleted. Up to 30 objects can be separated at a time. The default "Keep background" works instantly with no download. Only the optional background removal asks you (once) to approve downloading a high-accuracy AI model of about 240 MB — it's stored in this device's browser so later runs skip it, processing happens entirely on your device with no image ever uploaded, and each object takes roughly 10–60 seconds depending on your hardware.
Plans, pages & retention
- How much can I try for free?
- On first sign-up you receive a bonus of 5 watermark-free pages (no expiry), so together with the 5 monthly pages you can convert up to 10 pages to start. Exports from the 5 monthly pages include a watermark, but the sign-up bonus and purchased packs are watermark-free. The first-time bonus is granted once per account.
- When is my page allowance replenished?
- The Free plan resets to 5 pages on the 1st of each month. Paid plans reset to the plan's monthly pages on your billing renewal date (on yearly plans, monthly pages are granted on the 1st of each month). Unused pages don't carry over to the next month.
- What is the pre-registration bonus (+100 pages)?
- It's a benefit for those who pre-registered (by email) before the official launch. Sign up with the same email address within 30 days of the launch announcement email, subscribe to your first paid plan, and a bonus of +100 pages (valid for 90 days from grant) is granted automatically (once per person). The pre-registered email address must be one you can sign in with via Google or Microsoft authentication. If it doesn't arrive, contact us and we'll check the grant status.
- What are page packs? Can I buy them on the Free plan?
- They are one-off page top-ups for when your monthly pages run short (10 pages/¥400, 50 pages/¥1,500, 200 pages/¥5,000). Packs are valid for 90 days from purchase and can be bought on every plan, including Free. Pages converted with pack allowance are watermark-free. Note that members of a Team-plan team can't buy packs (billing actions are owner-only — ask your owner if needed).
- What is the referral program?
- When a friend signs up via your referral link (available on the Plan & Billing page) and completes their first conversion, both the referrer and the new user receive +10 pages. Referral pages are watermark-free even on the Free plan and valid for 90 days from grant. New sign-ups only; rewards are capped at 10 referrals per month.
- Are there cases where referral rewards are not granted?
- Referrer rewards are capped at 10 per month. From the 11th completion in a month (a completion = an invited friend finishing their first conversion), the friend still receives +10 pages (watermark-free, valid for 90 days), but the referrer receives nothing for that one, with no carry-over or later back-fill. The count is based on how many friends completed their first conversion that month — not how many signed up — and it resets to 10 when a new month starts. You can check this month's count on the Plan & Billing page. Existing accounts and accounts re-registered after deletion are also not eligible.
- What's the expiration and usage order for page packs and bonuses?
- Packs are valid for 90 days from purchase; the sign-up bonus has no expiry, and the pre-registration bonus is valid for 90 days from grant. Pages are used automatically in the order least likely to go to waste: (0) the sign-up bonus first (your watermark-free trial pages are used up before anything else), then (1) packs granted by support and any pack expiring before your next reset, then (2) on paid plans your monthly pages (which return to full at each reset anyway), while on the Free plan your pack balance is used instead (packs are used before the watermarked monthly pages), and finally (3) whatever remains. Packs are taken from your own first, then team-shared, each group closest-expiration first. Purchased packs and granted bonuses stay usable until their expiration even if you later change or cancel your plan.
- What happens to my remaining pages when I upgrade?
- Your remaining pages carry over, and the new plan's full monthly pages are added on top (e.g. upgrading to Standard with 4 pages left on Light gives you 4 + 300 = 304). A new month starts on the day you upgrade and the new plan's fee is charged in full (there are no prorated refunds or credits for the unused part of the old period). On your next renewal date your balance resets to the new plan's monthly amount. Upgrading to Team creates a new contract under the team's name; your individual plan ends immediately and your remaining pages carry over into the team's shared pool.
- What is "priority processing"?
- It processes Standard/Team plan conversions in a priority lane during busy periods. When it's not busy, all plans are processed at the same speed.
- What payment methods are available?
- All plans are paid by credit card (JCB, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, and Discover; Stripe Link is also supported). Yearly plans are paid by card as well. Bank transfer and convenience-store payment are not supported. Invoices and receipts (PDF) are issued on all paid plans, but payment itself is by card. The name (company name) can be set on the "Plan & billing" page. Exception: enterprise invoice contracts (bank transfer, annual upfront) are billed by our team directly.
- Is there a yearly (annual) plan?
- Yes — Standard and Team offer yearly billing (Standard ¥29,800/year, Team ¥98,000/year — two months cheaper than twelve monthly payments; Light is monthly only). The full annual amount is charged once at sign-up, and your monthly pages are still granted every month (no carry-over). We email you a renewal notice 30 days and 7 days before the renewal date. Yearly plans come with a full refund within 14 days of your first contract only (request it via the "Billing & refunds" category in the contact form; renewals from the second year onward and monthly plans are not eligible). If you are on the yearly Standard plan and move to the yearly Team plan, the unused portion of your current term is deducted from that payment. To switch from yearly to monthly, use "Switch to monthly at the next renewal" on the Plan & billing page — the change takes effect when your current term ends (no refund or settlement, and you can cancel the reservation at any time). To move to the monthly Team plan, reserve the switch to monthly first, then subscribe to Team monthly once your term ends.
- How will it appear on my card statement?
- It appears as "SWIFTSLIDE.COM".
- Who are the Team plan's contract and billing tied to? (corporate use)
- The Team plan is a contract under the team's name, and billing (card, invoices, receipts) is tied to the team and managed by the owner. Members can't buy page packs or change billing settings (ask the owner if needed). The name (company name) on receipts and invoices can be set on the "Plan & billing" page.
- What if we need more than 30 seats, or purchase-order / bank-transfer procurement? (Enterprise)
- If you need to go beyond the Team plan's limit (30 seats in total), or need purchase-order / bank-transfer procurement or security questionnaire support, we handle these individually. Enterprise contracts are offered only as annual contracts (1 year or longer) paid upfront by bank transfer — we do not offer monthly or short-term individual contracts. Use "Enterprise & large-scale deployment" on the pricing page or the "Enterprise & security" category in the contact form, and tell us your expected scale (people, pages per month) and requirements. A member of our team will review and respond.
- How do I invite members?
- Invite them from the team page by entering their email address. They can join via the link in the invitation email. Invitations expire after 7 days, so send a new one if it has expired.
- What happens to billing when I change the team owner?
- Even if you change the owner, the contract and billing stay with the team and carry over, and service isn't interrupted. The email that invoices are sent to switches to the new owner. If the payment card needs to change, the new owner can update it anytime from the "Plan & billing" page.
- Where can I find receipts and invoices? Can I set the name (company name)?
- From "Payment history" on the "Plan & billing" page, use the "Details" link for each payment to view invoices and receipts (downloadable as PDF). Plans and additional seats are issued as invoices, while add-on page packs are issued as receipts. The name (such as a company name) can be set under "Name on receipts and invoices" on the same page and applies to documents issued afterward (it isn't applied retroactively to already-issued documents). For team use the owner sets it; on an individual plan you set it yourself. Note: for enterprise invoice contracts (bank transfer), invoices and receipts are sent by our team instead.
- What happens to my pages if I downgrade or cancel?
- You can keep using your current plan and pages until the current billing period ends. On your next renewal date you switch to the new plan, and your pages reset to that plan's monthly amount. If you cancel, you return to the Free plan (5 pages/month) after the renewal date. There are no prorated refunds.
- Can I pause my subscription?
- Yes. Instead of cancelling a paid individual monthly plan, you can choose to "pause" — skipping payment for just one upcoming renewal (it's offered as a retention option when you go to cancel). While paused, that renewal's charge and monthly page grant are skipped, and your next grant/renewal date shifts back by one cycle. You can still convert using the pages you already have while paused (plan perks stay too). It resumes automatically after one cycle, and you can also resume immediately from "Plan & billing." Note: pausing is available only on individual monthly plans — yearly plans and Team (team contracts) are not eligible, for owners and members alike. To stop billing for a team, please cancel instead.
- What does "Applied to balance" mean in my payment history?
- It records a negative adjustment — from a downgrade or a seat-count change — that will be deducted from your future invoices. It is not a refund to your card; it is offset automatically on your next invoice.
- What happens if I file a payment dispute (chargeback)?
- Your paid plan is stopped automatically and your account moves to the Free plan — otherwise charges would keep accumulating while the dispute is reviewed. Any unused bonus pages are also revoked, as set out in the Terms. Page packs you have purchased are not revoked automatically. The review is carried out by your card issuer and can take several weeks. If a charge is unexpected or looks incorrect, please contact support before filing a dispute — a refund is usually the faster route.
- What happens if a renewal payment fails?
- Check your card's expiry date and limit, then register a new card from "Change payment method" on the "Plan & billing" page. We retry the payment automatically several times over about two weeks. During that window you keep your plan, but monthly pages are not granted (pages you already hold remain usable). If a retry succeeds, your subscription continues and that month's pages are granted at that point. If payment still can't be confirmed, you move to the Free plan (5 pages/month). Projects you already created keep the retention period they were given — it is never shortened retroactively. Even after moving to Free, you can subscribe again at any time to resume right away.
- Can I re-register after deleting my account?
- You can re-register anytime with the same account. However, the first sign-up bonus (+5 pages) is checked against deletion records to prevent abuse and is generally not granted again on re-registration. Data deleted when you closed your account can't be recovered.
- How long is my converted data kept?
- The retention period for edit data varies by plan (Free & Light: up to 7 days / Standard & Team: up to 30 days; the defaults are shorter — Free 1 day / Light 3 days / Standard & Team 7 days — and can be extended up to the maximum on the settings page). Within that period you can re-edit in the editor and re-download the PPTX as many times as you like. Once the period passes, the data is permanently deleted and can't be recovered (you'd need to upload again). You can shorten it further under "Retention days" on the settings page. On a Team-plan team, the owner can set a team-wide retention limit (only the owner can change it; it applies to projects created after the change, and members can still choose a shorter period within that limit). When a limit is set, your settings page shows it. Note that this retention period is about your slide edit data. Records of your purchases (date, amount, plan name, and so on) are kept as accounting books required by law, for 10 years from the end of the fiscal year in which the transaction falls (see our Privacy Policy).
